Intermountain Health’s Select Health Donates $50,000 to Las Vegas Organizations Improving Wellness

Select Health Awards and $5,000 given to 10 Las Vegas organizations for their exceptional contributions to enhancing health and well-being across Clark County

(PRUnderground) September 10th, 2024

Select Health – a wholly owned subsidiary of Intermountain Health – is pleased to announce the expansion of the Select Health Awards to Las Vegas. Ten outstanding organizations have been chosen for their exceptional contributions to enhancing health and well-being across Clark County. These awards aim to honor and help fund organizations whose impactful work uplifts underserved populations and provides essential support to individuals in need.

“This community has many outstanding initiatives that deserve recognition,” said Jason Worthen, Nevada market president for Select Health. “We are excited to highlight these efforts and provide crucial support to advance their missions and celebrate the significant contributions to our local community.”

The recipients address a wide range of causes, including infant care education, shelter for homeless, support for abused women and children, youth programs, senior care, and medical resources for those in need. Select Health awarded each of the ten organizations $5,000 to further their missions. These funds will support a variety of essential services such as utility bill assistance, transportation services for seniors, access to needed medical care and supplies, marketing, and community outreach.

“Honoring these exceptional organizations for their commitment to enhancing health and well-being is a genuine privilege,” said Rob Hitchcock, president and CEO of Select Health. “Their commitment to supporting those in need perfectly captures the spirit of our awards program. We are honored to support their work and celebrate the profound impact they have on the communities they serve.”

Since its inception in 2008, the Select Health Awards has donated over $1 million to organizations across Idaho, Utah, and, for the first time this year, Nevada. The Select Health Awards were created to support health and well-being by empowering organizations that share Select Health’s commitment to proactive care.

As part of an integrated health system with Intermountain Health, both organizations focus on preventive strategies and wellness initiatives that address community health needs before they become critical. By supporting innovative programs and local organizations, the awards help improve access to essential services, promote healthier lifestyles, and enhance overall well-being. This initiative aligns with Select Health and Intermountain Health’s shared mission to build stronger, healthier communities and ensure that individuals and families have the resources they need to live the healthiest lives possible.
