2026 World Grand Prix Taipei Open – Who Will Rise to the Challenge and Battle in Taipei!

TAIPEI, TAIWAN (MERXWIRE) – The Department of Sports, Taipei City Government and Taiwan Dancesport Development Association jointly organize the “2026 World Grand Prix Taipei Open,” which will be held at the Taipei Arena on March 28th. As one of the world’s top international standard ballroom dance competitions, this event will feature over 700 participants from 25 countries, including the UK, US, Canada, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Finland, Poland, Croatia, Sweden, Spain, Iceland, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Taiwan.

This event has been held in Taipei City for 15 years and the Commissioner of the Department of Sports, Taipei City Government, Yu Chu-ping remarked: “I believe that through an international event like this, more people will be inspired to appreciate the beauty of sports. It is our hope that the Taipei Arena will serve as a premier stage for athletes to showcase their most brilliant performances. Furthermore, through the continued collaboration between the Department of Sports and the Association, we aim to provide a platform where more world-class athletes can truly shine here in Taipei.”

Currently, the event has received registration from the top 24 professional players in the world, as well as invited World Professional Acrobatic Dance Champions Victor da Silva & Ekaterina Krysanova, World Professional Ballroom Dance Runner-Up Stas Portanenko & Nataliya Kolyada (Ukraine), World Amateur Latin Dance Finalist Adam Hathazi & Julia Kowalczyk(UK), World Amateur Latin Dance Star Piotr Swiatkowski & Oliwia Tracz(Poland) to participate in this event. The day’s program will also include a dance king superstar show, which is usually only available in Europe’s Blackpool. However, in Taipei City, viewers will be able to watch such high-level world competitions and performances. The final match and dance king show program are expected to be even more exciting and unforgettable.

The Department of Sports, Taipei City Government is dedicated to promoting comprehensive development of sports in Taipei.
