The Year 2020 Changed The Pet Industry
For better or worse, things were not “business as usual” beginning in 2020. With the rise in stress caused by the pandemic, more than 23 million households in the United States alone adopted a pet. That is nearly 1 in 5 homes according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In response, there was also a rise in the number of pet guardians, professionals, and paraprofessionals seeking an education that included natural, organic, alternative, integrative, and sustainable approaches for animal health and well-being.
A Vision for Pet Wellness
“Smart Pet Talk” Co-founder Becky Starr, an expert in alternative/integrative healthcare, had already transitioned her skills in biochemistry and nutritional consulting from human healthcare to animal wellness. She knew instinctively that pet guardians and professionals needed access to reliable information that would provide both hope and options. For the past two years, Becky and Co-founder Dan Gilman have assembled a dream team and produced more than 60 episodes.

- Dr. Christina Chambreau, DVM, CVH, an internationally known homeopathic veterinarian, lecturer, and author, using homeopathy in her veterinary practice since 1983. She is an authority in homeopathic veterinary medicine and sustainable practices.
- Joan Ranquet, an animal communicator, EFT Instructor, TEDx speaker, author, educator, and animal guardian. Founder of Communication with All Life University, she has led wildlife excursions globally.
- Bryndon Golya, a CBDC dog trainer and behavior expert. Founder of OC Canine Coaching, he offers holistic and relationship-centered dog training, prioritizing behavior modification through an understanding of a dog’s comprehensive needs.
- Dan Gilman, a professional in graphic and digital design, media, and brand collaborations. “Smart Pet Talk” furthers Dan’s family legacy in media and communication.
- Host Anna Devere, with a background in podcast production and storytelling, rounds out the cast with her expertise in narrative creation and animal advocacy.

Launched in 2022 as “All Paws Pet Talk TV,” the show received an overwhelmingly positive response with over 500 thousand views in the first 10 months. The show included different panel experts and hosts, but it has always maintained its vision to create a platform that offers 24-hour access to informative, educational, and entertaining content for pet guardians, professionals, and paraprofessionals. With more than 60 episodes featuring trailblazing guests, “Smart Pet Talk” puts natural, organic, alternative, integrative, and sustainable approaches to animal health care into mainstream media.
