EyeCare Partners 2025 Quality and Outcomes Report Demonstrates Visionary Care Provided Across U.S.

Report Highlights Quality and Sustained Clinical Excellence Across Clinically Integrated Network of Ophthalmology and Optometry Practices

EyeCare Partners (ECP), the nation’s leading provider of clinically integrated, doctor-led eye care, today released its 2025 Quality and Outcomes Report, highlighting sustained clinical excellence, patient satisfaction and measurable progress in integration, innovation and overall patient experience.

Building on the foundation established in its inaugural 2024 report, ECP delivered more than 2.5 million clinical encounters and 170,000+ surgeries in 2025, while maintaining strong clinical outcomes that frequently outperform national benchmarks. The report reflects a network that strengthened care across ophthalmology and optometry, supported by doctor leadership across clinical decision-making.

“Our 2025 Quality and Outcomes Report demonstrates what is possible when care remains doctor-led and data-informed at national scale,” said Dr. Antonio Capone, Jr., Chief Clinical Officer. “We maintained exceptional clinical outcomes strengthened by clinical integration and advanced innovation. Quality continues to drive every decision we make to help patients protect, preserve and restore vision.”

“This report reflects the high quality of our clinically integrated, doctor-led model and the dedication of our doctors, clinical teams and supporting colleagues across the country,” said Chief Executive Officer Chris Throckmorton. “We are proud of the outcomes we achieved in 2025, and are even more focused on continuing to elevate standards, expand access and improve lives through exceptional and visionary care.”

2025 Report Highlights

Sustained Clinical Excellence

  • More than 95% of patients undergoing cataract procedures achieved 20/40 vision or better, exceeding national benchmarks.
  • Complication rates for cataract, retina and glaucoma procedures remained well below national averages.
  • Nearly 58,000 patients with glaucoma received long-term management, with over 70% achieving stable or reduced intraocular pressure, a key indicator for glaucoma, over 12 months.
  • ECP physicians delivered expertise across all major surgical modalities used in the treatment of retinal detachment, including scleral buckling, pars plana vitrectomy and complex vitrectomy with membrane peeling. Our single-surgery success rates for these approaches meet or exceed published national benchmarks.

Expanded Access and Integration

  • ECP completed 1.4 million+ optometry exams and welcomed more than 350,000 new optometry patients in 2025.
  • The network includes 300+ ophthalmologists, 660+ optometrists and 30+ ambulatory surgery centers across 18 states.
  • Network efficiency improved to 65%, reflecting stronger in-network referral coordination and continuity of care.

Innovation, Research and Doctor Leadership

The EyeCare Partners Innovation Center (EPIC) continues transforming clinical data into actionable insights that improve quality and shape future care. In 2025, under EPIC direction:

  • 195 active clinical trials were supported across 24 research sites.
  • Approximately 1,000 patients participated in research studies.
  • Nearly 100 doctors served on Medical Executive Board committees, informing clinical standards and strategic decisions.

Exceptional Patient Experience

Patient satisfaction remained strong across the network in 2025:

  • Average Google ratings of 4.85 stars out of 5 in ophthalmology and 4.6 stars in optometry.
  • Net Promoter Scores of +89 out of 100 in ophthalmology and +85 in optometry, both considered excellent.

The 2025 report also reflects ECP’s continued investments in lifelong learning and leadership development, as well as impact within its communities. As ECP enters the next phase of its quality journey, the organization remains focused on strengthening clinical integration, advancing research, expanding education platforms and investing in digital innovation.

“We are proud of the progress reflected in this report,” said Throckmorton. “We will continue to enhance integration, elevate standards and ensure that doctor leadership remains central to the future of eye care.”
