Women’s Telehealth Provider Expands Services to Include Consults, Check-Ins, and Medication Delivery
Wisp, the largest pure play women's telehealth company in the U.S., today announced the launch of a dedicated migraine care vertical, consisting of online consults, prescription medications, and ongoing follow-up to help patients manage and prevent migraines. Wisp’s migraine specialists, certified by the National Headache Foundation, create customized treatment plans, expanding access to affordable, convenient care for patients wherever they are.
Migraines affect one in five women — occurring nearly three times as often in women as in men — yet timely access to care remains a major barrier. On average, patients wait 34 days to see a neurologist, and in some cases, more than 90 days. Wisp’s new offering enables patients to receive care in 72 hours or less.
“Migraine care is the natural next step for Wisp,” said Monica Cepak, CEO of Wisp. “Only one in four adults with episodic migraines receive diagnosis and treatment, and our patients continue to ask for treatment options. We’re delivering on our promise, with diagnoses made online, to democratize access to care, breaking down barriers so women can enjoy more pain-free days without the long wait times or high costs.”
Wisp’s migraine care program includes:
- Migraine Consults ($60): Initial consults repeat every 6 weeks until the patient is on a stable dose.
- Quarterly Check-Ins ($30): Once stabilized, patients check in every 3 months for prescription refills.
- Prescriptions for Immediate Relief: Imitrex (Sumatriptan), Maxalt (Rizatriptan), Zomig ODT (Zolmitriptan).
- Anti-Nausea Medications: Zofran ODT (Ondansetron), Reglan (Metoclopramide).
- Preventive Medications: Topamax (Topiramate), Toprol XL (Metoprolol XL), Elavil (Amitriptyline), Lexapro (Escitalopram), Paxil (Paroxetine), Effexor ER (Venlafaxine ER).
Patients begin with a $60 consult, complete a short intake form, and upload brief videos to help diagnose and assess eligibility. From there, a licensed provider reviews their medical history and intake to recommend a treatment plan, which may include immediate relief, anti-nausea, or preventive medications. Prescriptions are then sent the same day to the patient’s local pharmacy, with no insurance needed.
“Migraines can be incredibly disruptive, but they are also very manageable with the right treatment plan,” said Dr. Jennifer Peña, Chief Medical Officer at Wisp. “Our approach provides patients with timely access to providers, tailored treatment options, and ongoing support so they feel empowered to take control of their health.”
This launch follows Wisp’s recent expansion of its weight care vertical, furthering the company’s mission to provide affordable and accessible care for women across all life stages. From sexual and reproductive health to at-home diagnostics, fertility, menopause, to weight care and now migraine management, Wisp is continuing to build the most comprehensive platform designed for the unique needs of women.
