Netsmart welcomed healthcare professionals, partners and associates to the 18th annual CONNECTIONS2025 (CONN25) conference in Kansas City, Missouri. The Hometown Edition of the event aims to drive collaboration and innovation, showcasing the growing impact of meaningful augmented intelligence (AI), automation and cutting-edge technology across the Netsmart CareFabric® platform.
The conference opened with a keynote from Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine, celebrating client achievements and platform milestones, including more than 165 million lives1 impacted across the care continuum by Netsmart clients. The opening address set the stage for the week with the key takeaway, “The Future is Here: Empowering Your Enterprise Through AI and Automation,” emphasizing how integrated AI-driven solutions extend the capabilities of organizations’ electronic health record (EHR). Valentine encouraged organizations to rethink their digital architecture and highlighted how those embracing AI and automation within a connected platform are working towards achieving measurable results.
“Our CONNECTIONS event is all about coming together with our clients and partners to showcase where we’ve been and where we’re going. With today’s technology, innovation is moving more rapidly than ever before,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “The value you get out of your platform can continue to grow as AI and automation evolve, creating new opportunities to reimagine how your teams work and deliver care. Together, we are shaping a smarter, more connected future built on agility, collaboration and purpose.”
A highlight of the keynote was the debut of the inaugural Healthcare IT (HIT) Value Model Awards, recognizing organizations for excellence in technology adoption, utilization and measurable value realization. The HIT Value Model enables healthcare leaders to benchmark digital maturity across seven performance dimensions and track the return on their technology investments. Award recipients included Devereux, Center for Human Development, Merakey, Ohio’s Hospice and Integral Care, each recognized for achievements in analytics, automation, interoperability, workforce management and AI-driven clinical innovation.
Following the keynote address, attendees explored the latest advancements of the growing AI and automation suite, including Bells AI, a comprehensive clinical documentation coach, AlphaCollector™, Benny, a revenue cycle AI assistant and Otto, a virtual support assistant. The CareFabric platform now offers more than 60 solutions and services designed to digitize enterprise operations, spanning revenue cycle management (RCM), interoperability, mobility, machine learning (ML), data and analytics to drive value across community-based care settings.
Another key highlight of the event is the return of Innovation Labs. The AI Data Lab, hosted in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), offers an interactive experience, where attendees can explore how Netsmart and AWS are advancing innovation through generative AI, predictive analytics and automation, complemented by more than 20 Tech Talks, highlighting real-world applications and best practices. Additionally, in the Interoperability Lab attendees can review their current interoperability plans and learn how the Netsmart Qualified Health Information Network (QHIN™) designation expands data exchange and connectivity to help advance coordinated, whole-person care.
Throughout the three-and-a-half-day event, client experts and Netsmart speakers will share success stories, industry insights and best practices across more than 135 education sessions. Netsmart remains committed to collaborating with clients, partners and industry experts to drive continued innovation and transformation across community-based care. The growing impact of the CareFabric platform reflects this dedication, advancing healthcare technology, optimizing care delivery and empowering providers across human services, post-acute, payer and public sector markets to enhance the lives of those they serve.
