Income Research + Management Adds Advisory Member to Board of Trustees

Income Research + Management (“Income Research” or “IR+M”), a fixed income asset management firm based in Boston, today announced the addition of a new Advisory Member to its Board of Trustees. Bill Lawrence, CFA, former Chief Investment Officer of Traditional Assets at SEI Investments, joined the Board on April 1. He will work alongside Fiduciary Members John Sommers, Jack Sommers, and Bill O’Malley, as well as four other Advisory Members – Debbie Goldstein, Kate Taylor, Dune Thorne, and Ella Washington.

“Our Advisory Members bring external expertise and diverse perspectives to our governance structure, which has resulted in more robust discussions about the management of our business,” said Jack Sommers, Co-Founder and Executive Chairperson. He continued, “Bill’s leadership experience at SEI, coupled with his years as a fixed income portfolio manager, analyst, and institutional salesperson, will enhance Board discussions about investments, culture, and growth.”

The Advisory Members aid the Board and IR+M’s leadership team on matters pertaining to management, operations, and strategic positioning within the asset management industry. They support the firm in its overall mission to deliver superior investment results, provide exceptional client service, and advance the firm’s Core Values.

Mr. Lawrence has a BA in Economics and English from Bucknell University and an MBA from The Wharton School. The Board of Trustees, comprised of the Advisory Members, Fiduciary Members, and Clerk, meets quarterly and on an ad hoc basis to support the firm’s affairs and overarching strategy. The Advisory Board Members provide external and independent counsel to the three Fiduciary Board Members and management. Matt Cannata, IR+M General Counsel, serves as Clerk of the Board.
