On March 2, 2024, Chez Les Mannequins debuted new designers showcasing runway collections during Paris Fashion Week F/W 2024-2025. The emerging brands and entities Francini_K, Chandra Keyser, Jolia, Shop Country Club, House of Laith, Juliette Dubois, July of Saint Barth,The Fur and Leather Centre, and BRM offer a fresh perspective on fashion with a focus on ethical, developmental, and sustainable practices.

We take a look at their collections in their own words:

"Francini_K presents the Moon to Sun collection. Looks remain structured, short and colorful. They are made of ultrasuede®, an innovative eco-friendly fabric produced in Japan with a luxurious ultra-soft touch of suede. The raw material from petroleum is replaced with plant-based materials. Certain looks feature an unusual combination of the ultrasuede® fabric with the prestigious French Malhia Kent fabrics.

Like the previous collections, the design emphasizes extreme comfort, allowing women to radiate throughout their active days. The collection excels through a combination of innovation, comfort, glamor and warm colors. Francini_K garments are the product of slow fashion. The collections are produced locally, in small quantities and are made of very high quality fabrics, warranting the longevity of your garments.

The collection presented during F/W 2024-2025 Paris Fashion Week under Chez Les Mannequins' production was accessorized by the millenary couture Butterfly Hat handcrafted by Odette and Elliott for Francini_K, by Damlaws Mohairs, by Rambazamba's colorful fantasy jewelry and by Chandra Keyser's fine leather bags."

"Leaving a 7-year marketing career at the New York Stock Exchange, Chandra Keyser decided to follow her passions and study handbag pattern making in Florence. Subsequently, she apprenticed with master craftsmen Marco and Antonio in Tuscany, who have worked for luxury brands Gucci, Lanvin and Porsche in their 90 year combined career experience.

Chandra Keyser's bold aesthetic focuses on shape, functionality, and balancing the material world and the environment. She draws inspiration from nature, Italy, and New York City's dynamic energies. Believing that beauty and confidence emanate from within, the label is designed to embody this ethos.

The line is entirely handcrafted in Italy, by a family of women artisans, using exceptional quality leather and skins made from apple-waste, to support zero-waste fashion. Price points for signature items are $220 for the Octogon Clutch, $420 for the Structured Tote."

"Lianna Haddad, woman in business, young entrepreneur, Lebanese-American citizen with a master's degree in international business, marketing, and finance. The startup brand, Jolia, innovates by merging technology with sustainability and women empowerment, minimizing inventory through e-commerce platforms like Amazon, website and social media, without Brick & Mortar. This strategy allows flexibility and expands its global reach, showcasing artisanal craftsmanship in handmade bags while creating job opportunities for women in the Middle East. The brand's tech-savvy approach underscores its commitment to growth and success in the competitive fashion market while driving social change and community development."

House of Laith, founded by Jalila Nayil, is an ethical brand based in the Middle East that seeks to raise awareness about various issues throughout the world. Following her recent presentation at Paris Fashion Week, Nayil currently endeavors to take up a creative project raising awareness about "mental health… to help spread awareness in the region and help people and viewers affected feel relevant… [she] will fundraise for a mental health center to help those who need therapy." She will showcase pieces specifically for this cause from the project at another Paris Fashion Week.

In regards to her recent collection, Nayil states "In 'Culture: Where You Find Belonging,' we explore the connections that bring a profound sense of belonging, navigating challenges with resilience and unity, symbolized by the colors black, blue, and white."

"Shop Country Club started with a basement full of clothes, some available credit, and a ton of hope. The concept originated out of a fashion fantasy in 2020. What if I could find the best pieces, in the best fabrics and style them in a new inspiring way? The plan was to create a completely unique shopping environment that not only inspired you to purchase, but inspired you to think differently about fashion. A place where you could take a risk.

Since opening my first store in 2020, sales have had a consistent 30% increase over LY. This is attributed to elevated personal service, inspiring store environment, and consistent flow of new pieces.

The Shop Country Club girl is in search of fashion forward pieces for her "it girl" lifestyle. She appreciates special pieces and comes in to see what's new. She looks at fashion and knows what's going to make her look unique!"

"Created in 1989 by Juliette Espinasse Dubois, the brand July of St Barth originally specialized in the creation of hats and bags. For 20 years Juliette has been sewing on her hats the shells of SHELL BEACH, her favorite beach in Saint-Barthélemy where she lived for several years... Passionate about perfumes since she was a little girl, she collects fragrances (more than 20,000 bottles today) and quickly becomes passionate about fashion."

Today, Juliette Dubois is the owner of two brands: Juliette Dubois Couture and July of St. Barthelemy, which produce clothing, accessories, perfumes, home-fragrances, and more. Juliette has received 10 medals and various awards for her brand. She hopes to continue her brands and grow into a household name.

"The Fur and Leather Centre, a family-owned powerhouse, boasts 6 iconic brands, $6-7M annual sales, and a unique supply chain advantage (20-35% cost savings!). But that's just the start... [They're] revolutionizing sustainability in the industry: ethical sourcing, reduced waste, and innovative recycling. Services make up 40% of the revenue, ensuring year-round profitability. The Fur and Leather Centre is shaping the industry's future, and you can be a part of it! Join the Fur Renaissance!"

BRM, an acronym for Black Role Model, is a slow-fashion brand started by entrepreneur, LaDarius Jones, who focuses on producing quality over quantity pieces. His collection is made specifically to inspire African American communities and other disadvantaged groups to engage in more economically beneficial activities that creatively develop and improve the quality of life for all. Jones, a father, hopes his brand inspires his children and youth everywhere to believe in themselves and understand that with hard work anything is possible.

BRM owner proclaims "[i]n the fashion world you always need to be 10 steps ahead with the treads."
