OAKLAND, Calif., November 23, 2021 /3BL Media/ - VolunteerMatch, the largest nonprofit network on the web connecting volunteers with opportunities to give back, is partnering with GivingTuesday and U.S. Bank to offer even more ways for people to give back on GivingTuesday.
On November 30, VolunteerMatch and GivingTuesday are making it easier for people to support their communities through volunteering on GivingTuesday by featuring ideas and links to volunteer opportunities on the GivingTuesday site. Plus, they created a guide for choosing volunteer activities to join in the annual day of celebration.
To drive more impact throughout the year, GivingTuesday and VolunteerMatch are also collaborating to share valuable data with the impact sector, including analysis of the latest volunteering trends to give nonprofits, volunteers, and businesses the insights they need to better serve their communities. The first report will be published at the beginning of 2022.
"We're excited to collaborate with VolunteerMatch to better understand volunteering trends during this unprecedented time. Our work together highlights an incredible opportunity for expanded data analysis and learning for the sector and opens up new avenues of discovery and innovation," said Woodrow Rosenbaum, chief data officer of GivingTuesday. "By sharing data through the GivingTuesday Data Commons, VolunteerMatch is bolstering our work to expand an open and adaptable data infrastructure to discover emerging best practices for greater resilience for the sector."
For the fifth year in a row, VolunteerMatch is also partnering with U.S. Bank on the give time campaign to inspire the community and U.S. Bank employees to share how they are giving time on GivingTuesday. By doing so, they energize others to give back and will be automatically entered for a chance to gift an eligible organization of their choice VolunteerMatch Member Services for an entire year.
“GivingTuesday is an opportunity to step back from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and take thoughtful time to invest our hearts and minds in the community,” said Erica Opstad, national manager for community affairs and engagement at U.S. Bank. “Each year, U.S. Bank employees cumulatively offer thousands of hours through hands on volunteering, pro bono and board service to advance the mission of community based organizations. Working together with VolunteerMatch allows us to multiply the message and drive home the meaning of GivingTuesday, a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities. We encourage individuals and families to join us by connecting their passions with their purpose.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to join forces this GivingTuesday with two leaders in the impact sector, GivingTuesday and U.S. Bank. Mobilizing our community around GivingTuesday is just one way we are working with GivingTuesday and U.S. Bank to activate 100 million volunteers into service by 2025 to ensure that every community has the support they need,” said Greg Baldwin, CEO and president at VolunteerMatch.
