Vale announces the payment to holders of mandatorily convertible notes
Rio de Janeiro, August 26, 2011 Vale S.A. (Vale) announces that the US dollar amounts to be paid
as additional interest on its mandatorily convertible notes series VALE-2012 and VALE.P-2012 are
US$1.806046 and US$2.088890 per note, respectively.
The trustee of the mandatorily convertible notes, the Bank of New York, will pay the noteholders on
September 2, 2011.
