ChipMOS ISSUES COMMENT ON SATURDAY EARTHQUAKE; ONLY VERY MINOR IMPACT

Hsinchu, Taiwan, February 6, 2016—ChipMOS TECHNOLOGIES (Bermuda) LTD. (“ChipMOS” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: IMOS), an industry leading provider of outsourced semiconductor assembly and test services, today confirmed that none of its employees were harmed by an earthquake that occurred at 3:57 AM local time Saturday in Southern Taiwan.

S.J. Cheng, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ChipMOS, said, “Our thoughts are with those families impacted by the earthquake. Fortunately, our employees are safe. We expect only a very minor impact at our manufacturing operations in the Tainan Science Park primarily due to power interruption in the immediate wake of the earthquake, and plan to start the resumption of normal operations later today.”
