Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
On April 12, 2006, AK Steel Corporation issued a press release, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein, announcing that that its board of directors had approved a capital investment of $14 million for the second phase of a project to increase production capacity for high quality, grain-oriented electrical sheet steels.
